| about physiocise
In1995 physiotherapist Anna-Louise Bouvier started Physiocise to help motivate, exercise and educate patients with recurring injuries, particularly bad backs. The practice has grown enormously and now teaches nearly 100 classes a week in the two studios in Sydney. With an highly skilled team of inspiring physiotherapists, the program continues to deliver the best evidence based information in a fantastically enjoyable and accessible way. What does it involve?
Physiocise is a system of classes, taught by highly trained physiotherapists who have extensive expertise in pain management, muscle control, movement retraining and motivation. They do not do any acute treatment and work closely with other colleagues and health professionals as part of a team approach to client management.
You will have a comprehensive initial assessment which explores your pain history as well as all the other things which may be involved in your problem; from breathing control to pelvic floor activation; from your work environment to your exercise history. This assessment allows us to continue customising and assessing your program as you progress.
Different bodies need different things
Physiocise uses the body type categories floppies flippies and stiffies based on your inherent level of flexibility, stability and strength. After you start classes you will be streamed into a class that is appropriate for your body type.
