Well Run Program

our team

Our Physiotherapy Team

Each member of our team of highly skilled physiotherapists has undertaken an extensive training program in the Physiocise program. Each of our staff has been selected for their combination of excellent academic ability, outstanding teaching skills and strong commitment to empowering clients to improve their health and wellbeing.

We have all worked in traditional physiotherapy private practices for many years prior to working with Physiocise. Thus we have a strong acute management background to draw from in our role at Physiocise.

Each of us is a highly specialised diagnostician in the area of chronic recurrent pain, (particularly back pain) and pride ourselves on keeping at the forefront of our profession with a strong commitment to continuing education. We are all members of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

Some of the areas of study we have focused on are:

  • Exercise therapy in pain prevention
  • Back pain research
  • Core stability research
  • Motor control theory
  • Pain behaviour research
  • Research into the effects of aging
  • Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)
  • Health coaching

We meet as a group, at least 4 times a year to workshop the latest research and decide how to integrate it into classes. We also attend national medical conferences throughout the year and keep constantly up to date through subscriptions to the most relevant international medical journals. Many of our staff also lecture at conferences. For more information on the latest research we have been exploring click here.

Our Massage Team

Sandy Templeton and Irene Macari

Sandy Templeton (left) is also a qualified occupational therapist having worked in the occupational health arena for many years before returning to her first love, massage. She is invaluable to the practice in that she provides a link for clients who need some specific releasing and muscle relaxation. More recently, due to overwhelming demand she has trained Irene Macari in her very specialised form of soft tissue releasing so that we can now provide more availability. Our physiotherapists liaise with Sandy and Irene re their mutual clients to ensure there is totally integrated care.
