research

We are constantly assessing and collating information from our clients with the view to publishing some longitudinal research. Examples of some of the areas we are investigating include:

Disability, fear avoidance and pain…a longitudinal study
In 2006 we recommenced a retrospective study of long standing attendees at Physiocise to assess any changes in their perceived disability, fear avoidance and pain levels.

The floppy body. What are the most common characteristics of the hypermobile client?

An evaluation of the common features of clinically hypermobile clients with symptomatic back pain.

Can you teach a transverses abdominus contraction in a class situation? A pilot study.

We conducted some pilot research on our level 1 classes to discover whether we were able to effectively teach TA contraction without the aid of ultrasound. We discovered that we a can be very effective at teaching this but also found out some useful info about which positions men and women are best able to activate TA in.
